Phelan Photo Booths
In the spring of 2019, I decided to take the leap and start my own events-based rental business. I designed and built a photo booth machine from scratch using an old repurposed cabinet. I created promotional materials and started a presence on social media. Clients started coming in, and I opened for business at the end of the year. Several months later, Covid-19 became widespread and I was forced to cease operations. C'est la vie! I learned a lot from this venture, and plan to take this new knowledge along with me as my career moves forward.
Freelance Marketing Consulting
When I was attending school to obtain my MBA, I did some freelance consulting for a variety of small businesses. I met clients through friends and acquaintances. These people had great business ideas and products, but just needed a little help optimizing their business and marketing strategies. I worked within budget constraints to provide clients with comprehensive campaigns that were both affordable and effective.
Lake Granbury Medical Center
This was my first position after finishing my undergraduate degree. I worked here as an HR Representative. The department was small, so I had to wear many hats. I often juggled multiple projects at once. I did everything from onboarding to designing / writing the employee newsletter.
Abilene Regional Medical Center
This was my internship during my undergraduate degree. I was exposed to and given experience in all of the administrative departments in a hospital. I trained new employees. I created marketing materials. I assisted in the move to a new inventory system. I learned quite a bit, and this experience greatly shaped my career.
Abilene Eye Institute
This facility needed all of its computers (75)Â replaced with new hardware. Said new hardware then needed to be integrated into their records system. I was contracted to help oversee and execute the process.
Zumafilmz
Zumafilmz was a production company based in Abilene, TX. I worked there as a graphic designer / administrative assistant. This was my first "real" job, and I learned so much. I created promotional videos and animations using adobe creative cloud. I went on field shoots, learned to manage lighting and audio, and built sound booths. On top of this, I was taught so much about the business end of running a production company. This position sparked in me a lifelong passion for production and design.
